STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Brian Fitzpatrick - Golf

The Iona College golf program recorded its best ever round under second year head coach Sean Burke competing at The Doc Gimmler on Sunday afternoon. Shooting 278 (-2) as a team, the Maroon & Gold were one of only two teams to finish round three under par. Senior Brian Fitzpatrick was the catalyst for the Gaels, shooting a 68 (-2) at the challenging Bethpage Red golf course in Farmingdale, NY. Fitzpatrick tied with sophomore Devin Delisle for the team best low round of the day. Fitzpatrick ended the weekend as the top ranked Gael on the individual leaderboard, sitting in 46th overall place. He moved up 16 spots on the final day to secure his best personal finish since he was a sophomore in 2014 at the CCSU Fall Invitational.
